PRODUCTION PROCESS

THE MYSTIC OF THE PRODUCTION OF TOBACCO FROM LA PALMA

For the composition of the inside of these Premium cigars, we have invested a lot of time in finding the right blending of each leaf, carrying out multiple tests of leaves from different harvest years and countries, looking for those that had an ideal degree of aging so that they would combine with each other in harmony. All of them add value to the strength, the flavour or the aroma.

These bunches or “bonchos”, once elaborated in a totally handmade manner, are introduced in some of the most peculiar cedar cellars.

This house has made an effort to rescue old cedar boxes and cedar chests, boxes that in some cases are genuine works of art, becoming true relics due to their scarcity. Some of them arrived on our island more than a hundred years ago with the phenomenon of immigrants who returned from Cuba with all the fortune that they had been able to make.

“These boxes have been restored and converted in order to become true humidors, thus recovering all the qualities of this excellent wood which, without a doubt, will always be linked to quality cigars.”

Inside these boxes, the bunches rest, with the appropriate humidity and temperature, for a long period of time to achieve the ideal aging that can give way to the last phase of the production process: the final wrapping.

Once finished, these cigars are matured for a period of up to six months in Spanish cedar cellars or display cases with the right humidity and temperature. This allows the aroma of the different tobaccos present in the cigar to mix together, where the filler, binder and wrapper leaves form a perfect unit.

“We defend the completely handmade elaboration of the cigar from La Palma, following the traditions and customs of our people, using the tools that our ancestors passed on to us, silent witnesses of the passage of countless artisan hands.”
